Booksigning in Whitesburg, Ky


In case you're wondering where Whitesburg, Ky is it is a little coal mining town nestled in the hills of southeastern Ky where the most warm, generous, loving, happy, hospitable people in the USA live. If you're ever lonely go there and they will make you feel like you're family.

Mr. Holbrook, I am sorry about your childhood; some unfortunately do live through horrible ordeals. I think it is important to recall those times and realize what you don't want for your own family when you become a parent. I don't think it necessary to publish it in writing and drudge up a families "dirty laundry", especially when they are now long since passed away.

I am the grand daughter or Crawford and Viola Branson. I heard about your book, and yes, I did purchase it. I have yet to read it. I must say, I am deeply troubled at how my beloved grand mother would have felt knowing her brother, no matter how horrible he may have been, or the mistakes he made; she loved him dearly and wouldn't want her entire families dirty laundry available for $15. Perhaps you should realize that you have grown and learned and survived what seems to have been a terrible childhood, but your "mighty pen" can and will hurt others.
